Lecture at BDF National Congress 2013

British National Championships is a very important competition for every dancer in the UK. It has become a tradition that BDF National Congress is taking place on Friday, during competition weekend. This year Alex&Lisa were priveleged to take part in this Congress as one of the lecturers. Overall title of the Congress was “INSPIRATION“. Some of the top professionals in this country and in the world shared their knowledge about this subject. John Wood, Stephen and Jenifer Hillier, Tony and Amanda Dokman, Michael Riley, Craig and Snezhana Draper, Neil and Katya Jones here are names of the lecturers. Saturday 9th June 2012 was a long day but what a successful one. A & L Dance Academy members started competing at 9am and finished at midnight with Us bringing home the Top Teacher Award for Juvenilles and Juniors for 2012 and Top Teacher Award for 2012 for children and adults. Kai and Natalia on Britains Got Talent 2012

Kai Widdrington and Natalia Jeved, two pupils of A&L Dance Academy wowed the judges on Britains Got Talent on Saturday 21st April 2012, achieving all Yes votes from the judges putting them through into the next round of this talent show! Kai and Natalia have been dancing since 2010, and train every week in A&L Dance Academy in Hedge End. They won Junior World Latin-Amercan Championships in Paris in 2010, and are climbing up the ranks in youth. All at A&L Dance Academy are very happy and proud of Kai and Natalia and will support them all the way! Good Luck guys!!!

Top Teacher Award 2011

Summer 2011 started with a very pleasant news! AS usual A&L Team traveled to Brentwood near London to take part in Stars Of The Future 2011. This event is always run in June and is one of the biggest dance school events in the country. The results of all the couples accumulated and teacher who trains them achieves an award. We were very pleased and surprised when we received a Top Teacher Award (for juniors and juveniles)and very proud of all the couples who did well in this competition!!! Keep Dancing…

Open to the World WDC Championships in Disneyland Paris

Despite this festival being very new, it is certainly becoming one of the most popular events to dance in! Right in the heart of Disneyland near Paris, top dancers from all over the world are competing to gain the world title. And the best thing about this competition it is totally open to everyone!
This year A&L Team have participated in this event and what a successful weekend we all had.
The results were:
Tabari Salmon and Sophie McCoy 7th Place in the Under 19 Worlds Ballroom Championship
Tabari Salmon and Sophie McCoy 12th Place in the Under 19 Disney Cup Latin Championship
Lawrence James and Aimie Leek 4th Place in the Under 21 Disney Cup Latin Championship
Kai Widdrington and Natalia Jeved 1st place in the Under 16 Worlds Latin Championship!
Kai Widdrington and Natalia Jeved 3rd place in the Under 16 Worlds Ballroom Championship
Alex and Lisa also competed this year in the Disney Cup Professional Latin Championships which was one of the World Ranking Events and they finished in 11th Place…

Great Results had by all. Well done everyone. We will certainly see Disney next year!

British Open Championships 2009, Blackpool

End of May, and the whole Ballroom dancing community all over the world is buzzing as another British Open Championships is about to begin.
The dance studios in London are bursting at the seams as International couples have arrived to practice and have last minute private tuition with the top class world coaches. Trip to Bangkok- Thailand

After having a little break from trips to Asia, we were delighted and looking forward to attending the opening of Summer Mansion Grand Hall Calebrations in Bangkok. We accepted this trip over a year ago at the UKA Congress in Blackpool when the orgaqniser of the event Mr Somchai was charmed by Lisa’s dancing and her lecture and asked us if we would come and demonstrate for him for the opening of his new Dance Ballroom.
